Health and Safety

Each HLS contract is individually assessed and evaluated by our qualified site managers for health and safety prior to any work commencing.

We provide the following documentation prior to any project; all works are thoroughly researched and all active technicians collaborate in the formation and review of the following:

  • Risk Assessment
  • Method Statement
  • Health & Safety Policy
  • COSHH Assessment
  • Environmental Policy

Safety is of paramount importance to all of our technicians

HLS has past and present experience of working with organisations such as the NHS, Merlin Entertainment, Vue Cinemas and LendLease; our health and safety record is exemplary with no accidents / injuries sustained during any operations.

We also recognise the need to provide environmentally friendly services; inherently our techniques are clean, green and often non disruptive. Machinery is seldom required using rope access (industrial abseiling) works. We understand that first impressions and aesthetic appearance are essential to the success of your business and brand; this is why HLS will always undertake all works as safely and as environmentally responsibly as possible.

HLS are accredited and approved by Safe Contractor CHAS and Construction Line.  The Safe Contractor and CHAS accreditation’s evidences that HLS follow strict Health and Safety guidelines, indeed neither HLS or either of it’s founding companies have ever had any ‘lost time incidents’ or accidents.

Health and Safety - Safe Contractor Accreditation Health and Safety - HLS are a CHAS approved contractor. Health and Safety - HLS are a certificated and approved Constructionline provider of services.

Rope Access Health and Safety:

All of our rope access abseiling technicians and tradesmen are IRATA qualified and fully insured. We are very strict on procedures and checks are conducted on a regular basis.

Our technicians work in pairs as a minimum to support one another and to ensure health and safety in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

HLS have an exemplary health and safety record

Site specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) documents are prepared prior to any works starting. RAMS are approved and prepared in accordance with HSE, BS and IRATA guidelines.

HLS Is totally committed to a policy of prevention, reduction and elimination of all undesired events that could or do result in loss and to protect the interest of the company and our client at all times.

To achieve this aim, we have embarked on a risk management system and formed a Health and Safety Committee which will encompass all sections and areas of our operation.

The specific objectives of this program are:

  1. To place paramount emphasis on the prevention of accidents.
  2. Prompt accident notification, investigation and reporting.
  3. Protection of property, equipment and material from all incidents.
  4. The establishment and maintenance of safe, healthy and productive working environments.

It is vital that all employees and contractors who are working on behalf of HLS commit themselves to the attainment of these objectives by ensuring that every task is done safely and in accordance with the project policy, procedure, standards and managerial instruction.
